The Spectrum of Rejections

I know I've talked about rejections before, but as a writer, rejections can be a big part of the process, since they have the potential to really throw a wrench in the works of your writing if you let yourself wallow in the disappointment of receiving one for too long.

Here's the gamut of rejection types:
1.    no response
2.    form letter
3.    personal but vague
4.    critique
5.    invitation to submit again

Some of the critique rejections can be downright funny, depending on whether the rejecting person is on the same page as you, or not. Here's a link to the story of mine that got the funny critique rejection, Kindred Spirits.

And a link to Duotrope, where you can find markets to submit to, and also track your submissions.

Yay for Courtnee!

A huge yay for Courtnee, who's been writing for years, and who has submitted her first piece this month! You go, girl! Courtnee has two more submissions planned by the end of the month. What a huge leap, from none to three. I'm so proud!
